The JD ICE research doctorate (started from the XXXI cycle) was born as a continuation of the previous EMJD ICE doctorate which had excellent success in terms of international membership and results. The doctoral course in its current configuration sees the participation of 2 universities in addition to the University of Genoa (Queen Mary University of London and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid).

Moreover, since cycle 40, the JD ICE Doctoral Course has two industrial partners co-funding 2 PhD projects: Leonardo Sistemi Integrati srl and I-AM srl
